DO YOU KNOW JESUS?

To be saved according to the KJV:

• Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (faith in His person and work)

• Hear and accept the Word of God

• Repent from sin and live in obedience

• Be baptized as a public declaration of faith
  This sequence reflects the biblical pattern of salvation demonstrated in Acts 16, showing that salvation is a combination of faith, understanding, repentance, and obedience

Steps Highlighted in Scripture

1. Faith in Jesus Christ:
   Salvation begins with believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that He rose again. This faith is personal and transformative, not merely intellectual agreement.

2. Hearing and Receiving the Word:
   Acts 16:32 notes that Paul and Silas “spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house”. Understanding God’s Word and accepting it is part of the process of salvation.

3. Repentance and Obedience:
   While belief is central, repentance—turning away from sin—and obedience to God’s commands are natural responses to faith. The jailer immediately acted on his belief by caring for Paul and Silas and later being baptized.

4. Baptism:
   Although the act of Baptism itself is not what saves a person, Acts 16:33 records that the jailer and his household were baptized “straightway” after believing. Baptism is an outward expression of inward faith and obedience, symbolizing cleansing from sin and new life in Christ.
